VISION Benchmarking Visit to Tunisia: Three Days of Collaboration, Innovation and Shared Vision

The VISION Project concluded a successful three-day Benchmarking Visit in Tunisia (21-23 May, 2025), bringing together partners for an enriching program focused on collaboration, knowledge exchange and strategic alignment.

Day 1 – Building Connections and Aligning Objectives

The visit officially opened with partner presentations, where each institution shared its expertise, achievements and current challenges. These exchanges provided a valuable opportunity to better understand the strengths of each partner, realign around our common objectives and set a strong foundation for the days ahead.

The first day highlighted the diversity and complementarity of our consortium, demonstrating how each organization contributes uniquely to our shared mission.

Day 2 – Discovering Innovation at Institut Pasteur de Tunis

The second day offered partners an exclusive behind-the-scenes visit to several strategic platforms of the Institut Pasteur de Tunis (IPT).

At the La Soukra Branch, participants discovered how science and public health intersect in real time through advanced operational activities.

At IPT Headquarters, the delegation explored key innovation units including:

  • IPT-OMICS Platform, enabling high-throughput biological analysis and advanced research.
  • mRNA Vaccine R&D Unit, supporting national innovation in next-generation vaccines.
  • Biotechnological Development Unit, focused on transforming scientific discoveries into scalable solutions.
  • Vaccines and Biologicals Production Unit, contributing to local manufacturing capacity with global relevance.

The visits were marked by dynamic discussions, technical exchanges and promising perspectives for future collaboration.

Day 3 – Reflecting on Progress and Shaping the Future

The final day continued with presentations from Work Packages, showcasing progress achieved, challenges encountered and next steps planned.

The visit concluded with a strategic roundtable discussion dedicated to the future of the VISION Project. Partners reflected on achievements to date, identified new synergies and defined priorities for the next phase of impactful actions.

Moving Forward Together

This Benchmarking Visit reaffirmed the strength of collaboration within the VISION consortium. Over three days, partners shared expertise, strengthened relationships and renewed their commitment to advancing capacity building, biologicals and vaccines development, and public engagement.
